EK Knives -- the wheat from the chaff

Please be VERY careful when purchasing an EK Knife from okay -- there seem to be a few sellers, such as "knivesrme", who are manufacturing "tribute" knives using the EK patterns and even engraving them (albeit very poorly) with the EK name and trademark.THESE ARE NOT EK KNIVES, and are an insult to the EK family and legacy.Occasionally, there are authentic EK knives from WWII and Vietnam era that are posted for sale here, and the astute collector will see that these are real, and the prices will go above $600 usually.I represented the EK family and helped to sell quite a few authentic EK items last year. John Ek's widow Elsa is still alive and well in Miami, and she doesn't really appreciate seeing these "tribute items" up for sale.John Ek's son, Gary Ek, is alive and well in Key West, and he is the RIGHTFUL HEIR to the Ek name and trademark (but this is currently held by Robert Burlein, and that's another story). Gary is not very happy seeing these alleged "tribute" knives being sold on here either. If you want a tribute EK knife, simply buy one manufactured by Blackjack or the current EK knife gepany. DONT BUY ONE OF THESE SHODDY COPIES made my "knivesrme" or anyone else. They are a RIPOFF and a DISGRACE to the EK name and family.
