AUTHENTIC VS FAKE TOMMY BAHAMA

Tommy Bahama is a popular brand that is continually growing and sales are strong. Counterfeiters see that as a way to make a quick buck.
But, if you pay attention to the details, it's REALLY EASY to spot a FAKE.

First and foremost is the price. Authentic Tommy Bahama shirts RETAIL for $120-$150 a piece.
Not even a wholesaler can buy the shirtsfrom Tommy Bahama and resell them at a profit for $29 or even $59.

Our shirts start so low because they are PRE-OWNED. This means that they
have already shown they can withstand a wash and a wear. Most fakes Tommy Bahama shirts
fall apart after only a few washings. They use sub-par materials and the seam stitches just aren't as tight.

See, only as the brand progressed, did their eye for truly unique island wear.
Most people believe that all Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirts match the print across the front buttons or they are fake and that is simply NOT TRUE.
Tommy Bahama was started in the early 90s by two guys who saw that there
was a need and desire for quality island wear. While they used top notch
products and craftmanship, the idea to match the print across the buttons didn't gee until the late 90s.
That means that some of the older prints, while AUTHENTIC and COPYRIGHTED still do
not match across the front. Additionally, not all of theolder prints were copyrighted. They almost never match across the front.
The neck tag is an excellent indicator of the age of the print and
helps determine the real from the fake. I know of four different Tommy Bahama tags.
The only ones that MUST match across the frontto be authentic, is the newest one.

Another indicator of authenticity are the buttons.AuthenticTommy Bahama shirts have COCONUT BUTTONS.
Fake Tommy Bahama shirts have PLASTIC BUTTONS that kind of look like coconut.

Adiditionally, on the Authentic Tommy Bahama shirts, the inside tag on the
bottom of the shirt will be one single tag with two extra Coconut buttons and will
state that "FOR BEST RESULTS DRY CLEAN".
The fake Tommy Bahama shirts have two inside bottom tags and suggest that you NOT DRYCLEAN and often don't gee with extra buttons.

Oh, one more thing, NEVER, EVER, EVER buy a Harley Davidson Tommy Bahama. They have NEVER collaborated.
